Quality is deeply rooted in our company DNA. We were founded by a mechanical engineer in 1967. We were among the first in the industry to implement full product traceability (years before the Fastener Quality Act). We’ve been ISO quality registered since 1994, and we received our first A2LA lab accreditation in 1998. Today our tradition of quality continues with industry-leading systems that encompass the following concepts and resources:
To ensure strict product quality, we’ve built our corporate functions around the ISO 9001 standard. View our ISO 9001:2015 certificate.
Fastenal's Quality Policy Manual is available to provide the necessary information required by ISO 9001.
Unmatched Product Expertise
In addition to directing our internal Quality operations, Fastenal’s Quality and Engineering personnel participate in more than 40 committees within organizations such as ASTM, ASME, ISO, NACE, ASM, API, RCSC and SAE. We not only have a deep understanding of these standards, we play an active role in defining them.
Global Personnel and Infrastructure
Rather than relying on “middle men” or brokers, we operate our own fully-licensed trading company with locations in China, Taiwan, India, Malaysia and the Czech Republic. Our 200+ Asia-based sourcing, quality, procurement and logistics specialists work directly with our global manufacturing partners to drive our standards for quality and delivery.
