Diversity Makes Us Stronger

Fastenal’s vast network of local stores has established our company as a vital supplier to manufacturers, construction firms, and government agencies across North America and the world. We recognize the many opportunities that minority and woman business enterprises (MBE/WBE) provide as our suppliers, vendors and 1st tier strategic partners. With more than 2,300 stores spanning North America, we believe that doing business with companies that reflect the diverse communities in which we operate isn’t just the “right” thing to do; it also makes good business sense.

Goal

The goal of Fastenal’s Supply Chain Diversity program is to increase our purchases with MBE/WBE businesses by creating close working relationships that create significant opportunities for our suppliers, vendors, and customers.

Policy

Fastenal seeks to build long-term, strategic relationships with our suppliers and vendors. Our policy is to advocate for the inclusion of supplier diversity goals in the decision-making process while creating opportunities for MBE/WBE businesses to participate as suppliers and vendors. To that end, we collaborate directly with our key customers to identify specific opportunities for our vendors, working to match our customers’ needs with our vendors’ capabilities.

Mission

The mission of our Supply Chain Diversity program is to grow our company by providing our customers with a superior offering of products, reporting capabilities, and 1st tier solutions. We recognize that supplier diversity is an opportunity for Fastenal to establish a competitive advantage and improve customer satisfaction. The pursuit of this competitive edge is what drives us to continually increase the diversity of our supplier and vendor base.
