| Notes | Hex Head Cap Screws are designed for easy assembly into a tapped hole. Hex Cap Screws meet SAE specifications with a specially designed washer face under the head and a chamfered point. Specification 933 represents Full Threaded. Specification 931 represents Partial Thread. Class 8.8 is a medium carbon steel approximately equal to SAE Grade 5. Class 10.9 has a minimum tensile strength of 1040 MPa, or approximately equivalent to SAE Grade 8. Zinc plating froms a zinc carbonate film that greatly retards the corrosion rate in a normal atmosphere, which is similar to the aluminum oxide film that forms on aluminum that accounts for its low corrosion rate. |
