Fall Solutions

The leaves are changing and the air is getting crisp -- time to make sure your business is prepared for the cooler months ahead. A little preventive maintenance will make your business more energy efficient during winter while helping you avoid potential damage, injuries, and illness.

HVAC Maintenance

  • Check the heating system. If you have a system fueled by gas or oil, make sure to check the pilot light and burners
  • Replace air filters
  • Clean ducts in the heating system; dust build-up in ducts is a major cause of indoor pollutants and increases the possibility of illness

Indoor Preparation

Outdoor Preparation

  • Remove excess leaves and damaged branches surrounding the facility
  • Remove all debris from the gutters
  • Inspect the roof
  • Inspect exterior walls and windowsills for damage such as cracks, gaps, and loose or crumbling mortar -- if necessary, caulk exterior joints around windows and doors
  • Repair broken steps and secure loose banisters
  • Outside faucets should be shut down
