This Fastenal “2008 Ultimate Drive Challenge” (the “Challenge”) is sponsored by Fastenal Company. The Challenge will consist of two rounds with the top five times of the preliminary events advancing to the final round. The preliminary round of the Challenge will run from May 19, 2008 to October 5, 2008 (the “Preliminary Period”). The final round of the Challenge will be held November 15, 2008.

HOW TO ENTER
In order to enter, each participant must completely fill out the information required on the Entry Form (the “Entry Form”) available at the Preliminary Events (as defined below). The information requested marked “optional” on the Entry Form maybe be answered at the participants discretion.

PRELIMINARY EVENTS
During the Preliminary Period, approximately four hundred (400) preliminary contest events (each a “Preliminary Event”) will be conducted at local participating Fastenal stores (to obtain the dates and locations of the Preliminary Events please visit the website Fastenal.com) in which participants will attempt to record one of five fastest Valid Times (see below for definition) for the Preliminary Events. The top 5 fastest Valid Time across the country will be declared the “5 Preliminary Event Winner(s)”. The Preliminary Event Winner need not be present when the winner is declared.

CHALLENGE FINALS
The top 5 Finalists with the fastest valid times will receive a trip for two (2) to Homestead, FL on November 15, 2008 (as described below) to compete in the Challenge Finals. The Challenge Finals will consist of a final elimination round with all 5 Finalists competing for the title of “The Ultimate Driver”.

THE COMPETITION
During each round of the Challenge, each participant will be timed to determined how fast the participant can drive 3 (#12 x 1” wood screws) into a wood board using a DeWalt (DC827KL 18V Nano Cordless Impact Driver) (a “ Impact Driver”), 3 (#12 x 1” tek screws) into metal using a DeWalt (DC827KL 18V Nano Cordless Impact Driver) (a “Impact Driver”), ratchet down one (1) nut using a ratcheting motion within range of the stops on the metal plate onto a stud so that it touches the metal nut at the base of the plate using a Gearwrench (9/16" XL 12 Point Combination Wrench) (a “Wrench”). At each Challenge event, Fastenal Company will provide a contest workstation and all contest materials. Participants must use the materials and contest workstations provided by Fastenal Company. Participants will not be allowed to bring there own tools or other materials (including, but not limited to, screw driver bits, gloves, etc).
In order for a participant to record a “Valid Time”, the participant must: (1) start the timer using either hand; (2) grab the Impact Driver; (3) grab the wood screws; (4) drive 3 wood screws flush into the wood board (the screws are deemed flush if a Fastenal representative verify them as having contact with the material); (5) grab 3 tek screws; (6) drive 3 tek screws into metal until screw head is in contact with metal with the Impact Driver (7) put down the Impact Driver (8) grab the Gearwrench Wrench from the right wrench holding stud; (9( pick up the nut from the left nut holding stud, place it at the top of the ratcheting stud, then turn down the nut using a ratcheting motion within the range of the stops on the metal plate until it’s touching the metal nut welded to the base of the metal plate (10) stop the timer using either hand. Participants may not touch the screws prior to starting the timer but will be given the nut prior to start. Contestants will be allotted a two (2) second penalty per screw not properly driven. Only Valid Times will count during the Challenge Period. Each participant will be given one opportunity per event to record a Valid Time.

PRIZES
Each of the top five preliminary event winners with the fastest Valid Times will receive: (1) a trip for two to the Challenge Finals in Homestead, Florida consisting of two round-trip coach air transfers from the major commercial airport nearest the Event Winner’s residence in the continental USA and three (3) days/ two (2) nights standard hotel accommodations (combined approximate retail value of U.S. $2,000); (2) two general admission race passes for the Ford 300 at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, November 15, 2008 (approximate retail value of U.S. $100); Sponsored by Fastenal.
Each of the top 5 finalists will receive a DeWalt shopping spree worth $2,500 at any Fastenal store (tools sold at wholesale) (approximate retail value of U.S. $2,500); a Gearwrench tool package (approximate retail value of U.S. $600); a Jonnesway tool package (approximate retail value of U.S. $1,000); a JoBox sponsored by Danaher (approximate retail value of U.S. $500) and the “U.S. Finalist Event Winner Prize Package” (approximate retail value of U.S. $2,000). The “Challenge Winner” with the fastest Valid Time out of the top 5 finalist will receive (1) a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 delivered to the Fastenal store location of the Winner’s choice custom designed by Chip Ganassi (MSRP value of U.S. 35,000). (2) general admission tickets to the Sprint Cup Ford 400 on November 16, 2008. (3) the finalist prize package (noted above). Prizes are expected to be delivered by February 28, 2009. All prizes are non-transferable. Fastenal Company reserves the right to substitute any prize for a prize of equal or greater value. Unclaimed prizes will not be awarded.

ELIGIBILITY
The Challenge is open to legal residents of the USA, 18 years of age or older. Participants will be allowed one entry and attempt per event. Participants may only participate in one event. Current employees or individuals who have been employed at any time since January 1, 2005 by Fastenal Company, manufacturers, sales reps, subsidiaries, vendors or advertising/sales promotion agencies and the immediate families of each are not eligible. Void where prohibited. Entry materials become the property of Fastenal Company. Fastenal Company is not responsible for lost, late, damaged, misdirected, or illegible entry forms. Participants under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to participate in the Challenge. Previous winners are not eligible.

CONDITIONS
All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Fastenal Company is not responsible for any expenses (except as set forth above) incurred by participants in connection with participation in the Challenge or the claiming or use of any prizes. By submitting an Entry Form, each participant agrees to be bound by these Challenge rules, and any decisions related to the Challenge, the Challenge rules, and the operations of the Challenge. The qualifications and eligibility of any participant are at the sole discretion of Fastenal Company and are final. Each participant agrees to release and hold Fastenal Company, its employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, representatives and its subsidiaries, or other affiliated companies harmless from any and all damages, losses, claims and/or liabilities, direct or indirect, arising out of his or her participation in the Challenge or resulting from accepting, claiming or using any prize awarded hereunder. Fastenal Company reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to alter, change, terminate, suspend or otherwise cancel the Challenge at any time for any reason. These Challenge rules are subject to change without notification. Participants and their guest(s) may be required to complete a Liability Release Form. Participation in the Challenge constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use winner’ names, likenesses, biographical information, photographs and any statements or remarks made about winning or participating in the Challenge for advertising and promotional purposes (in any medium) without additional compensation. Participants acknowledge and agree that Fastenal Company may share any and all information collected through the Challenge from time to time with it affiliates, third parties providing services on its behalf, sponsors of certain promotions or partner companies. Fastenal Company may verify that all winners are qualified. Income and other taxes are the sole responsibility of the winners. Fastenal Company and other event sponsors may provide a tax Form 1099 to the winners. However, failure to provide a Form 1099 shall not subject Fastenal Company or any sponsor to any liability to a winner. Title and registration fees are the responsibility of the winners. All travel is subject to availability for chosen time of travel. Travel does not include upgrades in airfare, travel arrangements to and from the airports, additional hotel night, meals, or any other incidental costs. If any participant or there guest(s) commits any act or is involved in any situation or occurrence which informed parties reasonably conclude brings Fastenal Company into public disrespect, scandal or ridicule, shocks or offends the community, detracts from the public image of Fastenal Company, or reflects unfavorably upon Fastenal Company, Fastenal Company shall have the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify the participant from the Challenge.
