Fastenal Company Announces 2008 “Ultimate Drive Challenge” – Coming to 300 Fastenal Stores This Summer

So, you think you’re pretty handy with a power drill, eh? Well, now you can put your skills to the test for a chance to win a brand-new, Dodge Ram 1500 custom designed by Chip Ganassi. That’s right: Fastenal’s “Ultimate Drive Challenge” will be hitting Fastenal stores again this summer, so it’s time hone your driving technique, warm up your ratcheting wrist – and get ready to move some metal.

The challenge for contestants will be to drive three screws into wood and three screws into metal as quickly as they can using a DeWalt cordless impactor, and then ratchet down a nut using a Gearwrench ratchet. The top-5 fastest “drivers” nationwide will be flown to Miami to compete in Fastenal’s “Ultimate Drive Off,” the winner of which will drive off in a new Dodge Ram 1500 custom designed by Dodge NASCAR team owner Chip Ganassi (MSRP: $35,000).

The second annual Ultimate Drive Challenge will be held at over 300 Fastenal stores nationwide during their scheduled One Day Sales Events from May 20^th through October 5^th, 2008. The events will also offer giveaways and door prizes, free food and beverages, a truck-full (literally) of clearance items, and 20% savings on everything in the store (excluding power tools).
